Mexico
The United States of Mexico is one of the most important commercial and trade partners of the Czech Republic in Latin America. Mexico is perceived not only as an attractive market with big purchasing power but as a gate to both NAFTA and Latin America´s regional integrations, as well.
The Czech commercial and trade relations with Mexico profit from a long-standing tradition which dates back to the 16 century, and actually they are considerably developed and widely structured. Whereas in the past decades the Czech investments in the Mexican industry and energy sector prevailed, in the last decade are registered some Mexican investments in the Czech industry, as for example in the automotive parts production or civil engineering.
Positive impact on the steadily increasing volume of bilateral trade has a Czech-Mexican High Level Working Group established by the Bilateral Economic Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Ministry of Economy of Mexico. The 1st. meeting of the High Level Working Group was held on June 20, 2008.
The Czech Republic and Mexico benefit from special relations existing between the European Union and Mexico. In the frame of a comprehensive strategic partnership we share values and principles, based on our common cultural and historical roots and links, and on the common responsibility - as global political and economic actors – in strengthening peace and security and enhancing economic development in the two regions. Both parties are aimed to enhance mutual economic and trade relations, creating between the EU and Mexico a space of free economic and trade exchange, without barriers or excessive regulation, a space of competitiveness and rule of law, providing a safe environment of investors and promoting.
